Responsible for working as part of the stage carpentry team to install, maintain, and position scenic elements and equipment in a safe and consistent mannerIf the description below fits you, please send a resume to Also to be present for training, staging, rehearsals, and all performances.


$18-$22 an hour depending on experience.


  • Competently assemble, construct, maintain and operate all scenic equipment/set as needed for training, special events, outside events, rehearsals, and performances.

  • Work as a team member in the carpentry department and in collaboration with: Properties, Electrics, Sound, Rigging, Automations, Wardrobe, and Stage Management.

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of all carpentry department equipment specific to the Palace Theatre in order to operate and maintain mechanized and manual equipment safely.

  • Assist with the establishment of a safe working environment at all times and conform to all safety standards.

  • Participate in the regular, thorough, and diligent inspection of all installations as assigned.

  • Ensure that equipment and supplies are stocked in sufficient quantity to ensure the ongoing needs of the production.

  • Support the creative team with patience and understanding.

  • Assist with the preservation of the ongoing; long-term “opening night” quality and artistic integrity of the production.

  • Assist with the load In, performance, and load-out of all shows from opening to closing night. 


  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as carpentry experience.

  • Must be mechanically inclined and have excellent shop safety skills.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills, be self-motivated, and, highly organized.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Computer literate.

  • Woodworking, metalworking, electrical, plumbing, floor repair, and fiberglass knowledge is a definite asset.

  • Knowledge of OSHA health and safety protocols is a definite asset.
